The Safari Sure Doesn’t Trust Jambo

I recently went to Safari Park. I had thought that Jambo had been by various police forces on the East Coast, he had lived a clean life out here in Southern California. I had even chatted briefly with him. He likes cooking, baseball, and avoids politics. So okay.

But now his dodgy ways have contaminated the pristine life of San Diego County. So much so that there’s a sign just for him at the entrance to San Diego’s Safari Park. As you can see in the photo below.

It says, “Jambo!”

“Please Stop At The Toll Booth.”

Jambo has been warned.

The photographer has been fired

How I Hope to Improve My Outlook

My stunt double

Events and health have depressed me greatly.

I hope to become calmer and perhaps happier by making recipes, cooking, blogging, reading books, and not following what happening out there.

The Great Latch Hook Project – Part 9

Today, I latch hooked for the first time since May 3. I had been laid low with a nasty case of Covid. I felt fatigued for a few weeks after that. But today, I felt okay. Yay.

I’m back. I have resumed eye therapy and physical therapy. I’m starting to walk more. And I’ve taken up cooking meals again. Woot.

I even solved a future tax problem.

Watch out, world. I’m back.*

* = Ok, I would also like to get most of my hearing back, but the trend is good.

Anyway, I’ve done 104 out of 113 rows. Here is the work so far.

The Things That Keep Me From Fomenting Revolution

I’m pretty darn sure that if I didn’t have some hobby I’d be out in the streets fomenting revolution. Past periods of prolonged idleness for me goes a long ways towards explaining the crises of 2007, 2017, and 2019. We surely don’t want a recurrence of those troubled times. I know I don’t.

So, I’ve taken up cooking in a big way. This, of course, means purchasing wagon trains full of kitchen gizmos. Untold numbers of thingamabobs necessitate organzing on the level of a NASA space launch.

There, this is how I kept my self busy. This is how I kept our glorious republic strong and at peace.

And now, some of my kitchen gadgets and foodstuffs and how they’re organized.

How I Gave Up Fomenting Revolution

It’s pretty much inevitable. If I have too much time on my hands, I will take to the streets and foment revolution. Law enforcement frowns on revolutionary acts. My neighbors wouldn’t like it; you should see their tidy lawns and beautiful gardens.

What to do? Fill my time with worthy activities, of course. This was easy when I worked and help my kids grow up. Then I retired and my children moved out. Suddenly, entire days freed up. I came so close to rushing out the front door, provocative banner in hand, ready to stir up things.

But I got hungry. And I wanted something different to eat. So threw myself into looking up exotic meals, putting together recipes, and cooking and publishing them. I also developed more aches and pains. Many of these necessitated seeing a doctor. However, you can never really count on your body parts declaring war on you. The day the only thing keeping you from torching parked cars, will be the day your body will feel fine.

So I needed another deversion, another hobby. I am now making my own specialty soaps. Most soaps will be for me, with the rest given away, I have once again filled my with productive things to do.

Our republic is once more secure from unrest.

Behave Yourselves

Avoid this

I’ve been busy all day: making soap, balancing the checking account, reading, checking up on friends, and cooking up a storm. Time to relax.

So this blog is short. Behave yourself while I gone. Don’t push the Earth out of its orbit and send it spiralling into the Son.
