“Welcome to Heidi” by Heidi Clements – Book Review

HeidiCover

Heidi Clements’ Welcome to Heidi made the coveted title of “Bathtub Book.” Not many books are worthy or funny enough to be read in my bathtub. Even fewer books are so well written as to keep me in tepid water and cold water.

Life can be hard. You either laugh or cry. Heidi always makes us laugh out loud, whether it’s a comment on her life or the world in general. Even introverts like me will giggle a little.

Welcome to Heidi is the chocolate-iced cake-with-sprinkles-on-it book of funny, sarcastic observations. Oh, and shoes. It’s as good as any pair of shoes.

Welcome to Heidi is available on amazon.com

“Trailer Trash with a Girl’s Name” by Stacey Roberts – Book Review

StaceyPicStacey Roberts is an amazing writer. He has taken a horrifying childhood and made it a funny adventure. Stacey has transformed a dysfunctional family into one we love toTrailerCov follow. Indeed, he has performed an immense public service. Stacey’s hilarious descriptions of his mother’s red-onion-and-ginger meals pushed the memory of eating lutefisk out of my mind. Well, almost. This book was so good it got the coveted “I’m reading it while in the bathtub” status.

Great Free Recipe Holder

Many book holders cost about $25, at least the one I saw at Barnes & Noble did. And they are bulky. And you can’t have them over the stove. What can be done? I’m glad you asked. Take a plastic pants hanger, one that you get when you buy a pair a pants from the store. Simply place your recipe in the pants hanger and hang it above the stove. You can now cook without dashing back and forth between the kitchen table and your stove. Hurray!
