Air Fryer Eggs

American Breakfast

AIR FRYER FRIED EGGS

­
INGREDIENTS
­
2 eggs
­
SPECIAL UTENSILS
­­
air fryer
parchment paper*
2 mini-cake pans
­
* = Parchment paper should fit in min-cake pans
­
PREPARATION
­
Preheat air fryer for 4 minutes at 360 degrees. Line  mini-cake pans with parchment paper. Add 1 egg to each mini-cake pan. Place mini-cake pans in air-fryer basket. Set temperature to 360 degrees. Set timer to 7 minutes. For over-easy eggs, set timer to 4 minutes. For more well-done eggs, set timer to 8 minutes. (Times vary between air fryers. Check eggs when they should be nearly done. Use oven mitts to remove mini-cake pan from fryer basket.)

Eggs should come out of the min-cake pans when tipped over. If not, carefully remove the egg with a flexible spatula.

TIDBITS
­
1) Cleaning up with this recipe will be a snap compared to the alternative of frying eggs with butter in a pan. Or even, frying them au naturel. I mean by that, not using butter. I would never suggest frying anything in the nude. Particularly bacon. Oh gosh, no.
­
2) As I write, the price of eggs is at an all time, maybe double the cost of a year ago.
­
3) Some people think the high cost of eggs influenced the last election.
­
4) There’s something to this fear. The crushing  cost of bread and the ensuing riots precipitated the French Revolution.
­
5) This fear has not gone away. The French government heavily monitors and regulates bread prices.
­
6) If your last name was People, wouldn’t you be sorely tempted to name your baby, Some?
­
7) Then everything Some says could be repeated as, “Some People says this.”
­
8) Remember when eggs were so cheap that trick-or treaters would egg peoples houses?

Today’s Feast Plans

I worked up this moring filled with the cooking spirit. But first I went to the bank. Then I made spaghetti for lunch with homemade pasta sauce and homemade meatballs.

I cleaned up the kitchen. I received my mini-cake pans in the mail. They came with mini-parchment papers.

I’m going to start on making chow chow, a Southern relish and Soup beans. I have all the ingredients.

My shoulders are starting to hurt a lot, so is my back. So I don’t know how far I’ll get. The pinto beans are soaking for the Soup Beans. I’ll need to process the veggies for the Chow Chow. Oh I don’t know how much I’ll do. The problem is that taking it easy doesn’t help much. I’ll see. They hurt either way, so I might as well do something.

If I don’t get far enough on the Chow Chow  and Soup, I’ll try out my air fryer and make some air-fryer fried eggs.

Air Fryer Garlic Butter Salmon

American Entree

AIR FRYER GARLIC BUTTER SALMON

­

INGREDIENTS

2 4-ounce skin-on salmon fillets
⅛ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
1¼ teaspoons minced garlic
1¼ teaspoons lemon juice
1 lemon
¼ teaspoon parsley (⅛ teaspoon at a time)

SPECIAL UTENSILS

Serves 2. Takes 40 minutes.

PREPARATION

Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Rub salmon with pepper and salt. Add butter, garlic, and lemon juice to small mixing bowl. Mix with fork until well blended. Brush salmon fillets all over butter/lgarlic/emon juice. Cut lemon into 4 quarters.

Place parchment paper in bottom of air fryer. Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees. Cook for 10 minutes at 390 degrees or until salmon flakes easily with fork. Garnish with 2 lemon quarters and ⅛ teaspoon parsley. Repeat for 2nd salmon fillet.

TIDBITS

1) The ancient Sumerians, who lived in what would become modern Iraq, developed writing in 3500 B.C. They wrote on garlic-butter salmon fillets, using dried parsley instead of ink.

2) The above photo is a Sumerian haiku. It says:
You are so pretty
Leave that oaf of yurs and we’ll
Flee this here city*

* = Haikus were hard to write even back then, especially without spell and grammar checkers.

3) But Sumerian salmon haikus quickly died out. It was simply too expensive to get salmon from Alaska to Sumeria. All the salmon went bad on that ten-year voyage. The lovely object of a man’s affection never got close enough to the reeking salmon to read to love poem. Summeria’s birth rate briefly crashed to zero until a bright young woman thought of etching symbols in clay. Whew!

Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Breast

American Entree

CRISPY AIR FRYER CHICKEN BREAST

INGREDIENTS

1 egg
¼ cup flour
½ cup panko bread crumbs
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon paprika
⅛ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
2 8-ounce chicken breasts
olive or avocado oil spray*

SPECIAL UTENSILS

air fryer
air-fryer parchment paper (optional)
* = or fill sprayer with olive oil. This helps spread the olive oil evenly on the chicken breasts.

Serves 2. Takes 50 minutes.

PREPARATION

Add flour to 1st shallow bowl. Add egg to 2nd shallow bowl. Beat egg with whisk or fork until well blended. Add panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper, and salt to 3rd shallow bowl. Mix with fork until well blended.

Dip chicken into bowl with flour. Coat chicken by pressing down on each side. Dip chicken into bowl with egg. Coat chicken by pressing down on each side. Dip chicken into bowl with panko Coat chicken by pressing down on each side. Spray both sides of chicken with oil. Repeat for remaining chicken breast.

Line bottom of air fryer with parchment paper. (This helps with cleaning the fryer.) Place chicken breasts in air fryer. Cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Use tongs or fork to flip chicken. Air fry for another 10 minutes. (Times can vary a fair amount depending on the air fryer and the weight and thickness of chicken breast.) Goes well with wild adulation for the chef.

TIDBITS

1) The above photo shows a fork to left of the crispy fried chicken. You’ll need that fork to spear the chicken in case it tries for a quick getaway when you’re not looking.

2 The fork also intimidates nearby quests who’d steal your meal if they only could. Sometimes, you really need to be alert at mealtime.
