Misheard Lyrics of Queen

My hearing is not always the best, so I sometimes misinterpret lyrics. Often I understand them correctly, as in the case of:

“Spare him his life from this monstrosity” from Bohemian Rhapsody

I’m delighted therefore to hear-See what I did there?–that other music lovers took up the slack and heard:

“Spare him his life from this warm sausage tea.”

My heart soars like a hawk.

Misheard Lyrics of Fleetwood Mac

The great group Fleetwood Mac had a huge hit with their song “Tell Me Lies.” Part of it went:

“Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
“Tell me lies,”

But doesn’t “lies” sound like “lice?”

In this case, the singer really wants some lice to tell her something. It’s not clear what, just that she wants them to tell her something. At any rate, it sounds like:

We may never know if the lice ever responded to her, but I’m entertaining doubts.
