Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 4

The epic Minnie Mouse Latch project continues. At the very beginning, little pockets of colored yarn were splattered all over the upper-right corner. Also, the project somehow got started on the right edge of the mesh instead of at the bottom. So, I saw the whole developing picture from the wrong side. These two effects made the color pockets look like, well, yarn vomit.

Now that I’ve progressed and the image nears completing, it’s looking like a beautiful Minnie Mouse. Patience, Paul, Patience. (PPP.)

Anyway, here’s a hint of what patience will look like.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 3

The epic Minnie Mouse Latch project continues.  Besides providing a valuable exercise in making my eyes work together, something they don’t like to do with things that are up close, this exercise yields other saluatory benefits. The foremost of these benefits is drawing the people of this great nation together in kindness and understanding.

How so? Latch hooking calms me down. I have not taken to the streets to foment revolution. Can you imagine the carnage? Best to keep me occupied, And what of brotherly love? A smiling Minnie Mouse. It simply is impossible to harbor hatred to anyone when the image of Minnie Mouse remains firmly implanted in your brain. By following my Minnie Mouse project, the American people can track the inevitable march to serenity. Loving and helping each other will follow as certainly as day follows night.

Anyway, here’s a hint of what love and serenity will look like.

Gruntjectives – Adjectives That Have Lost Their Meaning

Please, no more gruntjectives

The following list contains adjectives that once modified a noun in a meaningful way. Now they just mean, “I just want to emphasize a noun. Ya know to show that the noun I’m using is special in some way, ya know.” A good example is the word awesome. Awesome originally meant that something inspired awe. A good example is, “Jesus’ miraculous raising Lazarus from the dead was awesome.” If raising someone from the dead doesn’t fill you with awe, I don’t know what would. However, an awesome burger, an awesome movie, etc. only tell us that you liked something.

You might as well grunt when you want to use an adjective. An example would be, “That was a *grunt* burger.

Here is my list of most hated gruntjectives. I’m thankful that some have passed away. Then new two ones take their place like the on the mythological Hydra.

absolutely
awesome
clearly ambiguous
decimate
edgy
epic
green
groovy
healthy
heroic
historic
iconic – I hate this gruntjective the most. I hate it. I hate it to death. Are no longer any other adectives being used today?
impactful
insane
literally
maverick
miraculous
perfect
rad
random
surreal
unique
viral

What adjectives do you think have lost meaning from overuse? I’d like to know.

Mocha Coffee Creamer

American Appetizer

MOCHA COFFEE CREAMER

INGREDIENTS

4 cups half and half
6 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

SPECIAL UTENSILS

2-to-3 screw-top bottles or jars.

Makes 4 cups. Takes 15 minutes plus 30 minutes cooling in refrigerator

PREPARATION

Add half and half and sugar to pot. Warm on low-medium heat until sugar dissolves. Stir constantly. Don’t let it boil. Remove from heat. Add cocoa powder and vanilla. Stir until cocoa powder dissolves and liquid is well blended. Pour into bottles and refrigerate. This creamer will stay fresh up to 7 days.

TIDBITS

1) The bottle in this picture looks tall. It is tall! How tall is it? It’s as tall as Mount Everest. In fact, it was constructed right next to the world’s highest mountain. That’s how we know the bottle’s height.

2) Wow, how did I not notice it? You did. The Tall Bottle Filled With Mocha Creamer Next To Mount Everest story dominated the news for a week.

3) Then thieves stole the bottle for its recycling value. The epic journey of the bottle to a recycling center in Manchester, England became news as well.

4) How do I not remember any of this? Well, other things happened in the world, sports, politics, etc. On Facebook, pictures of kittens and puppies crowded out all other items.

5) Oh, and when the thieves emptied the bottle, they created a vast mocha-creamer glacier right there in Tibet. Inspired culinary scientists are now looking to making sheets made of mocha-creamer to replace the disappearing polar-ice shelves. This is why you can’t find any mocha creamers on your supermarket shelves.
