The Great Library Cat Latch Hook Project – Part 1, Beginning

Hi there, I’m starting a third latch-hook project. It will combine two of my great loves in life: cats and books.

This project promises to possess fewer pitfalls than the last one. So the accompanying cussing should lessen as well. As always, this project should help my eyes work better together and also enhance my hand-eye coordination. Anyway, here’s what I done so far.

The Great Cats Latch Hook Project – Part 4, Final

Hi there, I finished the Great Cats Latch Hook Project Woo hoo! It was full of unseen obstacles such as inertia, a difficult pattern, having only one type of yellowish yarn even though the pattern called for  two, and not enough yarn for one needed color. But I persevered and finished. Go me!  Full speed ahead on the next project

And here’s what I did.

The Great Cats Latch Hook Project – Part 3

Hi there. I’m blogging again. I was on my back for most of ten days as I had not one, but two kidney stones. Yes, I am an overachiever. I’ve been to urgent care a fistful of times in the last year. Thank goodness, I’ve kept my Urgent Care punchard. I’ve already earned one free cheeseburger and am only one visit away from getting a second one. Anyway. I’ve made some progress on my Cats Latch Hook Project. Full speed ahead

And here’s what I’ve done.

The Great Cats Latch Hook Project – Part 2

Hi there. I’ve made some project. As you can, it’s going to be two cats. I’ve sorted enough of the yarn to progress more quickly. However, the kit calls for me to use two nearly identical bits of yellow yarn. I just can’t tell them apart. I’ll see if I can get a better pair of eyes to tell the yellow colors apart. Then it’s full speed ahead

And here’s the inital progress.

The Second Great Latch Hook Project – Part 1

Hey! I’ve started a new latch-project. It’s early days so it does look like much yet. For some hateful reason, the makers of this new latch-hook fit jumbled all the yarn colors together. This made finding the right color, and thus the project much slower.

I solved this problem by buying DeWalt(tm) tool-sorting case. It was cheaper and better than the crafts sorters. It took a while, but most of the threads are sorted into their compartments. Beside, it looks spiffy.

And here’s my yarn-sorting case.

So Tired

I slept even worse than usual. I drove to doctor’s appointment. There was a hospital emergency, so I had to wait quite a bit. It wasn’t the worst of news, but it could have been better. I drove to another crafts place. There seems to be about four different latch-hooks patterns in the whole county. So I purchased one that’s okay. I drove and made Tacos Adobada for the natives.

Monday, I think, Number Two Son and I will drive to his new job in Chicago.

I was tired that I accidently ordered an invasion, but I was so exhausted that I never started the darn thing.

Take care. You’re important to me.

What I Didn’t Do Today

My blog double

I took a shower and washed my hair. Things went down from there.

I labored over a spreadsheet for a few hours. An innocent typo let the metaphorical spreadsheet-hating camel poke its nose into the tent. Soon the entire camel was rolling into the spreadheet. And a spreadsheet-covered camel is of no good whatsoever. Have you heard of camel-spreadsheet wrestling? No, I didn’t think so.

So, I had to restore a previous version and redo all my work. Two hours, my battered and bruised brain and fingers had produced a spreadsheet fit to show to an admiring world. But the effort had me questioning the meaning of life. I took solace in philosophy and in a coffee drink.

I drove to Joann’s fabric store. After conversing some time with the help I finally found the latch-hook section. It was tiny. The latch-hook mat patterns were overdone, guffy, and icky. I gave the two 40% off a single purchase coupons I had printed to two wandering customers.

I drove to Michael’s. After an exhausting search, I found no latch-hook section. I looked for a while for an employee. I found none. They were as rare as two perfect games in the same game. I went to checkout. Surely, I would find help there. No one was there. After a few minutes, a customer came to buy her things. She said that the cashier had gone t0 help someone elsewhere. I waited some more. The store’s one employee didn’t come back while I was there.

I went to the grocery store. Got some things. I went home and took a nap.

I am currently trying t0 make brown bread in loaf pans. It doesn’t look like it will turn out well.

Good grief. It’s just as well I don’t actually own a sonic obliterator.

I do hope you’re behaving out there.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 5

Hey! I finished the latch-hooking part of the titanic Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project. I’d like to thank the many, many bits of material who willingly let themselves be turned into bits of yarn. This project simply wouldn’t been possible without them. A shout out goes to gravity. I shudder think if it had not worked the entire life of the project. Just one day without gravity would have been chaotic. Imagine hundreds of bits of yarn floating about the room. Imagine me floating about the room. Picture people meandering around the atmosophere. Brr!

Anyway, gravity held the entire time. I finished Minnie Mouse. And I’m very thankful.

Anyway, here’s what Minnie Mouse looks like.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 4

The epic Minnie Mouse Latch project continues. At the very beginning, little pockets of colored yarn were splattered all over the upper-right corner. Also, the project somehow got started on the right edge of the mesh instead of at the bottom. So, I saw the whole developing picture from the wrong side. These two effects made the color pockets look like, well, yarn vomit.

Now that I’ve progressed and the image nears completing, it’s looking like a beautiful Minnie Mouse. Patience, Paul, Patience. (PPP.)

Anyway, here’s a hint of what patience will look like.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 3

The epic Minnie Mouse Latch project continues.  Besides providing a valuable exercise in making my eyes work together, something they don’t like to do with things that are up close, this exercise yields other saluatory benefits. The foremost of these benefits is drawing the people of this great nation together in kindness and understanding.

How so? Latch hooking calms me down. I have not taken to the streets to foment revolution. Can you imagine the carnage? Best to keep me occupied, And what of brotherly love? A smiling Minnie Mouse. It simply is impossible to harbor hatred to anyone when the image of Minnie Mouse remains firmly implanted in your brain. By following my Minnie Mouse project, the American people can track the inevitable march to serenity. Loving and helping each other will follow as certainly as day follows night.

Anyway, here’s a hint of what love and serenity will look like.
