Today’s Feast Plans

I worked up this moring filled with the cooking spirit. But first I went to the bank. Then I made spaghetti for lunch with homemade pasta sauce and homemade meatballs.

I cleaned up the kitchen. I received my mini-cake pans in the mail. They came with mini-parchment papers.

I’m going to start on making chow chow, a Southern relish and Soup beans. I have all the ingredients.

My shoulders are starting to hurt a lot, so is my back. So I don’t know how far I’ll get. The pinto beans are soaking for the Soup Beans. I’ll need to process the veggies for the Chow Chow. Oh I don’t know how much I’ll do. The problem is that taking it easy doesn’t help much. I’ll see. They hurt either way, so I might as well do something.

If I don’t get far enough on the Chow Chow  and Soup, I’ll try out my air fryer and make some air-fryer fried eggs.

Good loving. Good eating.

What I Did Today

Metaphor Mel removes financial weeds

Busy, busy day. I’m exhausted.

1) Woke up.

2) Got up. Right away, Go me!

3) Had a glazed doughnut for breakfast.

4) Finances are like flower gardens. They can be beautiful and reassuring. Then if you neglect them, even take your eyes off them for a bit, evil hardy weeds overrun them. So today, I engaged in hours of weed pulling. If that isn’t a metaphor, I don’t know what is.

4) Brokered a cease fire between two peacefully coexisting neighboring nations. It was easier than you might think.

5) Paused and reflected.

6) Went to the bank to turn my CD into a new one paying 4.5%. If left to their own devices banks will roll over your CD into a new one that pays you $3 for every $10,000 you invest with them. How do ever stay in business

7) The woman at the bank got me the CD I wanted with NO hassle AT ALL. She ever told me how to do the next rollover on line.  She is a financial goddess!

8) Wondered if any mollusks have pages on Facebook.

9) Looked up recipes for bread pizzas. What a clever way to use up lots of idle bread slices.

10) Made my first and only proper meal of the day: ham and cheese sandwich.

11) Did Wordle in four tries.

12) Watched an episode about Saturn’s moons, part of a travelog on India, and episode about prehistoric Britain.

13) Worked on this blog.

14) Ready for more adventures. Latch hooking is on the horizon.

3b) Oops! I forgot to say that I got dressed. I most certainly did not go into the world undressed. Goodness!

Behave yourselves.

My Day

My local library is smaller than this

Sometimes time gets away from me. I almost forgot to post!

Yesterday, I found out how difficult it was to find, buy, and take home a latch hook.

This morning, I discovered how hard it was to find where I put my latch hook.

I looked for hours for it, but to no avail.

I looked on line on Amazon, etc. and found nothing that could get to me in time.

While doing this, I dealt with a hacking or virus attack. This is why I wasn’t on the streets fighting crime.

Okay, I stopped a bank robbery, but that was only for a few minutes.

Hoorah! I found the latch hook. It was in the back of the car, in a flexible cooler with two ice packs.

Had lunch.

Went to a library arts-and-crafst get together. I learned to use my latch hook. I did! I did! I’m going to make a latch-hook rug of Charlie Brown.(tm)

I drove home in a horrible rain storm. Whew.

Made meatloaf for dinner.

Watched Seinfeld and two mysteries.

Checked to see if the Earth is still rotating in the right direction. It is.

Writing this blog and will go to sleep soon.

Good night.

Bad Week or So, Bad Day

It’s not been the best of times lately. I went to the ER because I got blinding pains whenever I moved my head in the slightest. You’d be surprised just how many times the neck absorbs stress from head movement. I got an imjection on muscle relaxers. I also got muscle-relaxer bills and super Ibuprofen. It’s mostly better now as long as I’m careful; such as in remembering to lean forward with my head anytime I accelerate the car. I’ll probably start physical therapy, again, on Thursday. Oh and I have eye therapy every week. I’ll have different tests for other ills next month.

Then I decided maybe two weeks back to change banks. I won’t go into it now, but it has been unceasing nightmare.

I want to run away. Is the Wild West still open?
