How I Hope to Improve My Outlook

My stunt double

Events and health have depressed me greatly.

I hope to become calmer and perhaps happier by making recipes, cooking, blogging, reading books, and not following what happening out there.

A Fine Outcome

Farine du Ble sat down. She spent all day cleaning that room. What for? No one ever used it. Still she tidied. Her muscles ached. Now it was time for reading. She openned her book, Dress Patterns and the Women Who Made Them. She soon imagined herself making fancy dresses for the First Lady. Little by little she drifted from day dreaming to dreaming.

A few hours later, bricklayers sealed off the room; apparently someone else thought the room to be useless. She noticed not. Farine’s tired muscles ensured that only the dead would wake her. Which they did as soon as she had used up the oxygen.

And now they’ve found her; her book still open. One of her descendants has a gigantic library fine waiting for him.

Paul’s Awesome English Dictionary: Today’s Word – Pqfkqpltw

Foreign words can be difficult to pronounce. Words that we’ve never seen before are also hard to say correctly, such as ‘”reconnaissance” was for eight-year old me. Sure, we could say, “That word is hard to pronounce.” However, that is a sentence, of six words no less. What if we want to say that in just one word, one that evokes the difficulty of a nearly unpronounceable word?

This  paragraph brings us to

A Little Bit About Me

My eyes don’t always work together. It’s not noticeable at medium-to-far distances, but reading can be quite tiring as each eye does it own thing. I’ve been doing eye therapy for about a year now and I have noticed a definite improvement in eye coordination. I’m able to read for increasing lengths of time. I have various exercises. One of them is pencilling in an adult-skill coloring book. (To the left in the below picture.) Precise pencilling is the point of this exercise. I make a great effort not to spill my pencilling into a neighboring blank sections and also to fill in every section completely. Each picture takes hours.

I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, especially the 1,000-pieces variety. I usually start when I wake up and keep going until I finish. This usually occurs in the wee hours of the morning. I find it nearly impossible to stop. The further along I get, the more I see pieces coming together in my brain. Indeed, I see envision pictures of matching pieces for a few hours after completion.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into me; it’s not easy for me to open up.

Take care.

Behave Yourselves

Avoid this

I’ve been busy all day: making soap, balancing the checking account, reading, checking up on friends, and cooking up a storm. Time to relax.

So this blog is short. Behave yourself while I gone. Don’t push the Earth out of its orbit and send it spiralling into the Son.
