Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 5

Hey! I finished the latch-hooking part of the titanic Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project. I’d like to thank the many, many bits of material who willingly let themselves be turned into bits of yarn. This project simply wouldn’t been possible without them. A shout out goes to gravity. I shudder think if it had not worked the entire life of the project. Just one day without gravity would have been chaotic. Imagine hundreds of bits of yarn floating about the room. Imagine me floating about the room. Picture people meandering around the atmosophere. Brr!

Anyway, gravity held the entire time. I finished Minnie Mouse. And I’m very thankful.

Anyway, here’s what Minnie Mouse looks like.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 4

The epic Minnie Mouse Latch project continues. At the very beginning, little pockets of colored yarn were splattered all over the upper-right corner. Also, the project somehow got started on the right edge of the mesh instead of at the bottom. So, I saw the whole developing picture from the wrong side. These two effects made the color pockets look like, well, yarn vomit.

Now that I’ve progressed and the image nears completing, it’s looking like a beautiful Minnie Mouse. Patience, Paul, Patience. (PPP.)

Anyway, here’s a hint of what patience will look like.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 3

The epic Minnie Mouse Latch project continues.  Besides providing a valuable exercise in making my eyes work together, something they don’t like to do with things that are up close, this exercise yields other saluatory benefits. The foremost of these benefits is drawing the people of this great nation together in kindness and understanding.

How so? Latch hooking calms me down. I have not taken to the streets to foment revolution. Can you imagine the carnage? Best to keep me occupied, And what of brotherly love? A smiling Minnie Mouse. It simply is impossible to harbor hatred to anyone when the image of Minnie Mouse remains firmly implanted in your brain. By following my Minnie Mouse project, the American people can track the inevitable march to serenity. Loving and helping each other will follow as certainly as day follows night.

Anyway, here’s a hint of what love and serenity will look like.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 2

The amazing saga of the Minnie Mouse Latch project continues. There is a little extra excitement associated with this project, though. The company that sold this kit, put down the color grid on the mesh at a slight angle. Usually if the side of the square I’m working is red, I use a bit of red yarn. However, the color on the side of the square is sometimes half red and half black. In these cases, I have to make an executive decision. These choices are fraught with concern. If I pick the color unwisely, will the fabric of the time-space continuum be rent in twain? Will our Earth leave its orbit and spiral into the Sun?

So far, no.

Anyway, here’s what it looks like.

Minnie Mouse Latch Hook Project – Part 1

I finished my Charlie Brown latch hook project, but with illnesses, doctor visits, and plate tectonics I’ve delayed starting a new project.

But no longer.

But first, two days I brought the mounted Charlie Brown(tm) latch hook to the crafts class. A librarian saw me holding it and took a picture. My project and I will be in a forthcoming county newsletter. Two other crafters took pictures as well. It all made me feel special and I was dearly needing a pick me up.

I’m taking over a friend’s barely started latch hook of Minnie Mouse(tm). It’s a little harder as the thread is somewhat thicker,

Anyway, here is my start.
